Awkwafina
Awkwafina is an American performer and actor who made her name with innovative raps which addressed gender and ethnic identities from a an edgy, comical perspective. Then she branched out to Hollywood. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants, was her first music experience. She performed on the trumpet. Apart from classical music and jazz, she started to study hip-hop during her teens. While in the college years, she remained focused on her studies, and then took up a degree in women's studies as well as journalism. For a brief period of time, in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were also available. The focus on music until the time she graduated. Following her viral success on the Internet, her track My Vag was a reaction to the song of Mickey Avalon's My Dick. It eventually appeared on the debut album Yellow Ranger. The album featured other viral hits like the body-positive Queef and winking hometown tour NYC Bitche$1. This song is directly connected to Awkwafina's NYC, a 2015 travel guide. Following a career that was successful as a musician and songwriter, she decided to take on the role of actor. As well as early shows, such Girl Code and Tawk - she appeared in movies Neighbors 2 Storks & Bad Rap. In 2018, she landed many notable roles that were a breakthrough, like Dude Ocean's Eight or Crazy Rich Asians. This June, she released her debut EP "In Fina We Trust".
